Now Forming!
Introduction to Racing for Women Training Group
Now forming is a coached training group just for women new to the sport of bicycle racing. Women of all ages are welcome and no experience is necessary. This training group is designed for women who have never raced before or feel they need to start from the basics. This training group will introduce women to the skills needed to successfully compete in their first bicycle race and the best way to do that is in an open and supportive environment with others at the same level of cycling development.
Participation includes a personal "Race Fit" training plan made just for you, around your schedule, abilities, and goals.
The training group will consist of at least one coached training ride per week of 2-3 hours. Rides will meet at various locations with access to free parking and will consist of a training ride of roughly one hour and a skills development portion lasting roughly 1-2 hours. Skills practiced will include: Drafting, Pacelines, Sprinting, Climbing, Bumping, Clipping in to pedals, Etiquette, Race Tactics, Nutrition and Hydration, and much more. Training rides will be held at various locations around the greater Santa Cruz area.
In a sport that has an unfortunately low participation rate from women, Scott Cole Coaching hopes to expand the numbers of female bicycle racers with a cost effective and supportive introduction to the sport.
